Choral Prelude, December 24
The St. John’s Parish Choir will offer a Choral Prelude to both Christmas Eve liturgies this year, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. respectively. Please join us for a special collection of beloved carols set by English Composers David Willcocks and John Rutter and by American composer Clarence Dickinson.
ChoirsThe Parish Choir is open to all adults and high school students of the parish and community. The Parish Choir is comprised of nearly 25 voices, many professionally trained. They rehearse in the Choir Room on Wednesdays from 7:30-9 pm, from September through June. The Boys’ & Girls’ Choir rehearses on Sunday after the 10 am Liturgy and sings throughout the school year. Membership is open to children in grades three and above.
OrgansThe organ in the church is a three-manual, 44 rank, 50 stop instrument built by Petty Madden of Hopewell, NJ in 1996. It was designed by John Baldwin in the French Style. The organ in the chapel is a 9 stop tracker designed by C.B. Fisk of Gloucester, MA.
